Research Institute of International Economic Relations & Trade

Approved by the former Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations and Trade, and known as the SIFT Research Institute of Foreign Economic Relations and Trade until December 31, 1996, the SIFT Research Institute of International Economic Relations and Trade (hereafter referred to as the Research Institute) was set up on October 24, 1984. Over the past two decades, the interest of the Research Institute is on the integrative study of world economy, international trade, and particularly, the World Trade Organization (WTO), and some important research achievements have been made in those areas. The Research Institute is currently composed of International Trade Research Section, the Editorial Department of Journal of International Business Studies , the Editorial Department of Journal of WTO Affairs and Research , and the Reference Room of WTO Research and Education. In addition, the Secretariat of the WTO Shanghai Research Center and the Shanghai Society of International Trade is also located in the Research Institute.
