 Conference Theme

 With globalization as a world tendency manifested pervasively in the flow of finance, people, and cultural products, the studies of literature become all the more an imperative. The conference tries to bring together scholars from across the world to explore the prospects of Australian literature in the age of globalization. Contributions are encouraged of comparative perspectives on border crossing in Australian literature, as the conference aims to promote cross-disciplinary and cross-cultural studies and teaching of Australian literature regionally, nationally and internationally.

Guidelines for Submission and Presentation

Paper proposals are preferably in English of less than 300 words to be submitted through shinysuns@shift.edu.cn by June 20th, 2010 for evaluation, before notifications of acceptance are delivered at the beginning of June.  The working language of the conference is English.

Each participant will be given 20 minutes to present the paper, followed by 10 minutes of panel comments and discussion. A selection of papers will be published in the conference proceedings.

Registration Fee

Registration fee: RMB 500 yuan (80 USD) to cover partially, the expenses of academic program, conference documentation, coffee breaks, dinner and a tour around Songjiang and the old town of Shanghai.

Accommodation

Accommodation: Liston Hotel (inside Thamestown) at Songjiang, close to the conference venue or Jinjiang Hotel in downtown Shanghai, about 45 minutes’ shuttle-bus ride to Songjiang Special rates for conference participants are negotiable.
