The Australian Studies Center, Shanghai Institute of Foreign Trade is an academic research institution initiating and conducting academic studies in aspects of Australia. The Center aims to further the advance of Australian studies in China, to promote academic exchange and cooperation between Chinese and Australian research personnel and institutions, and to contribute to the friendship and mutual understanding between China and Australia.
Members of the Center include staffs from Shanghai Institute of Foreign Trade and researchers from outside the Institute with shared interest in Australian studies. Research projects of the Center cover various aspects of Australia such as literature, culture, history, society, economics and trade, finance, and legal system. The Center also conducts activities that may enhance the Chinese interest in and understanding of Australia, particularly in the fields of research, education and business. The Center welcomes visits from interested parties both home and abroad.
